Jennifer Knapp

Man oh man...do I love Jennifer Knapp's music. Can no longer listen with the same ears though.... for the same reasons why Christian radio hasn't been playing her stuff...I suppose. Shift from phileo to agape.

I remember asking Toby Mac where she was when she apparently fell off the face of the earth some odd years back. He graciously remained silent.

The narrow road is narrow. That's the whole thing of it.

I'm committing to praying for her because this cannot be an easy time.

What a voice!

A bigger question is how do you as a Christian treat gay and bisexual Christians in your daily life, as well as gay and bisexual people in general. Instead of spending so much time debating whether Jennifer Knapp is a good or committed Christian as a lesbian, each of us should reflect on how we treat gay and lesbian people. Introspection is the proper response.

That would be a question you would have to ask my gay and bisexual friends.

All sin is heartbreaking and should cause introspection...hopefully resulting in Godly sorrow...which leads to repentance...a turning away.

Dear Anonymous - You are wrong. That is NOT the bigger question. We must love one another, bear with one another and treat one another with respect - Absolutely! But MOST important is that we realize how offensive our sin is toward God and turn away from it! That is indeed the biggest issue at hand. Introspection is key as we consider how our sin offends a Great and Holy God.

*I enjoy her as well Dawn! Thanks for the post!

How we treat others is likely to lead to a discovery of and conviction of sin. If you think you treat others correctly all the time, you're mistaken.

Fundamentalists and rightwingers only think their version of Christianity is true. Thankfully, I know better and attend a vibrant Christian (Lutheran) Church that does not believe in fundamentalism or worship inerrancy. We welcome gay Christians and bless gay unions. Jennifer Knapp has a wonderful choice of Christian congregations that fully welcome and accept partnered gay and lesbian Christians. More and more churches do the same. Jennifer Knapp can fellowship with us!

In this world...one can always find a place to fit.

Anonymous, you seem to be running on emotion. Nowhere at anytime did I (or Lisa) say that we think we treat people correctly all the time.

You might want to take a look at the fact that you yourself are making some pretty harsh wide sweeping criticisms of people groups not based in Biblical truth as understood by orthodox Christianity...throughout history.

Anon:

How does this work? You name call certain Christians who *think* they know the truth. You, on the other hand, *know* they are wrong. How? What is your standard to judge truth?

I appreciate your post about Jennifer's coming out, but I'm afraid I disagree. I've written a great deal on the matter, here:
