Columbus Day

In 1492.... Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

When most of His creation (man) thought the world was flat....the Lord had already spoken otherwise.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12

John Politan used a word picture during his sermon yesterday...that helped put a visual to the Lord's revelation.

If He had said, "as far as the north is from the south..."the whole idea would've collapsed. Eventually when we travel north we reach the highest point and then....must descend...traveling south. Then after a while...north again.

When we travel east....we can keep traveling east...forever. Forever. Forever. Never ending.

There is no end to the forgiveness available to us in Christ.

Wow! I never thought of that east/west analogy working because the north/south wouldn't mean the same thing. Thank you for sharing that!

I was able to listen last night online. This will be etched in my brain forever about Psalm 103:12-13. What a brilliant word picture. As far as from the east is from the west, so far has HE removed our transgressions from us....so the Lord has compassion on those who fear HIM. I loved when he talked about the fear of the Lord- God is constantly watching and weighing every one of our thoughts, words, actions and attitudes...... Oh Lord, please help me each day to live a life that would give you all the glory instead of living the life that comes with my sinful nature! I had tears at the end during the prayer time.... so convicting and so real :) P.S. Alexandra's fever finally broke today!
