I have not handled my pain well this week. I am grieved by my sin. The Lord has used Ozzie to soften me.
Today I finished again....A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.... and tomorrow I re-read The Problem of Pain.

Alexandra and I are almost finished reading the book, Stepping Heavenward..... At the end of the book Catherine is talking to her husband. "Yes, every act of obedience is an act of worship," he said. "But why don't we learn that sooner? Why do we waste our lives before we learn how to live?"
"I am not sure, he returned, "that we do not learn as fast as we are willing to learn. God does not force instruction upon us, but when we say, as Luther did, MORE light, more light... the light comes. This caught my attention tonight- I hope it might encourage you.
I wish you didn't have to suffer such horrible pain. I hope this week is better and you continue to be in our prayers. I seem to a slow learner in understanding God's will for my life, but HE continues to stand by my side on days when I have such little faith... what an awesome God we serve!
