Someone said, "It's Point of Grace." Another said, "Look it's the Dixie Chicks."
Really, it's just Jana, Me, and Cate.
And, "no" we do not plan our outfits in advance for home fellowship night. It's just that great minds think alike.

I have been in a battle, friends. A battle begun on the field of my limited and ignorant understanding of the Lord's will and His timing.
It's over. He won.
And this is what He taught me. BE STILL, Dawn....and know that I AM GOD. I am working miraculous things behind the scenes and one day....ALL will be revealed.

Tea Party / Home Ec
Jemima took it upon herself to plan and throw a tea party for her sisters. She even did Zion's hair for the occasion.
She's got the gifts of hospitality and service without a doubt.

Roshashanna
The lesson of Abraham thru Galilee's eyes....
Abraham obeyed God by being willing to sacrifice his son. Jesus came to him and said, "You are such an obedient man of mine. Thank you for obeying me. You may take your son back and here is a ram in the thicket."
Just obey and things will go well with you.

Corned Beef, Cabbage & Potatoes
On his way out the door this morning...Bria peeked into the croc pot and asked, "What's for dinner?"
"Corned Beef" .....I answered.
After a long pensive beat, he responded with....."Well, then I guess I'll come home after I'm done....instead of going to the gym with Michael."
Food...the way to my boy's heart.
Five carniverous kids later....and there are no leftovers. They eat us out of house and home.

Book: Blueberries For Sal
This week's co-op lesson was so sweet. Among other things....Zion got to eat blueberry pancakes and go "blueberry" picking. She and her friends cut out 20 berries (practice w/scissors)....and the moms hid the paper blueberries all around the room so that the kiddos could search and fill their buckets. We did this twice because it was soooooooo much fun.....and then, we got to count all the blueberries!

Women's Bible Study
Today I re-entered the world of a weekly women's Bible study. It's been a long season at home....where duties and life's circumstances....and maybe even a wounded heart.......... have kept me away. How refreshing! Seeing old faces. Seeing new faces. It's all so familiar and somehow correct...for me....for this season.
It is the Lord who is so familiar. The Lord...ministering, working, and moving...amongst his daughters.
This morning.....thoughts of my husband and his dreams arose. Thoughts of my five children living in heaven arose. Thoughts of my saved children arose. Thoughts of my unsaved children arose. Thoughts of family dynamics arose. Thoughts of relationship challenges arose. Thoughts of my struggles arose. Thoughts of my sister's struggles arose.
Thoughts...unspoken prayers...all in submission. All in stillness.
Be still and know that I AM GOD: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10

English Muffin Pizzas
Easy breezy...comfort food. The weather is changing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to pull out the Autumn recipies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What makes this an Atumn recipe exactly...I do not know....other than the fact that my Mom always made a tray for my brother and I after school...back east...where the air was clear and crisp.... where the leaves changed all sorts of colors before they were piled high in Saturday heaps and burned away by Dads in flannel.
Brush english muffin halves w/olive oil. Stick under the broiler until golden. Spoon on tomatoes sauce and top with fresh mozerella. Salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste. Stick back under the broiler until cheese browns and bubbles.

The Boys' Room
And the remodel begins. These boys are smart. They've enlisted the help of a buddy. I guess they aren't too embarrassed about the love note from Dad.

The thing I love most about home-education is the reality of our days....days spent together.
I always think of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when I think of us. Jeremy and Jemima make me smile. Those unique, one-of-a-kind, cute kids ....alongside their wacky dad and even wackier granddad. Pure inspiration.
Mcabe and Zion walking to the mailbox hand in hand....somehow...it melts my heart.

Today is the first day in a very long while that the kids have played outside without wearing bathing suits. I love when the weather breaks in Arizona. The windows are open because Autumn is just around the corner!

How cute is this? Mcabe booked his first paying gig as an actor. A Basha's commercial. He misses an hour of cop-op for a wardrobe fitting on Monday and History & Writing classes on Wednesday...for the shoot.
I am confident that he...like his dear old parents....will learn much, much, much on set.
______________________________________
And one of the most wonderful things about our home-fellowship....is the encouragement these families bring in to our lives. The Moyers gave Mcabe a "Way to Go!" acknowledgement with a Chinese hackey sac. Isn't it cute....how embarrassed he is? And the Johnsons, they are so thrilled for all he attempts and let him know he's got his own personal cheering squad at every turn.
