Still another:
"All mankind love themselves, and...he would be glad to have his blood shed. That would be loving themselves, even unto an eternal exaltation. Will you love your brothers and sisters likewise, when they have committed a sin that cannot be atoned for without the shedding of their blood? Will you love that man or woman well enough to shed their blood? That is what Jesus Christ meant."

Another unbiblical teaching:
"We were taught that we were predestined to be born into the families we were born into. God had favored us because of our faithful service to him in the pre-existence when there was a great war in heaven. Because we were among the one-third of the hosts who had served god faithfully during the war, we were allowed to come to earth and receive bodies in which to earn our exaltation. We weren't cured with a black skin like those who didn't fight for god and couldn't decide whom to follow. And we weren't like Satan's demons, who chose to follow him and fight against god and as a result were denied the right to come to earth and receive a body in which they could earn their exaltation. Because we were among the faithful and part of the most valiant defenders of god's kingdom in the pre-existence, god let us be born into families that were already in the faith, thereby assuring us the best possible chance of enduring to the end to attain our own exaltation to godhood."

One of the many unbiblical teachings of Mormonism:
"Little children are whole, for they are not capable of committing sin...Behold I say unto you that this thing shall ye teach-repentance and baptism unto those who are accountable and capable of committing sin; yea, teach parents that they must repent and be baptized, and humble themselves as their little children, and they shall be saved with their little children. And their little children need no repentance, neither baptism....But little children are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world.

WOWOW....
that is so sad.....
praying for your family!
Psalm 51:5
Cate, "Yes."
Wow, I know so very little (nothing, actually) about the B.o.M. The book cover you show, is it about exposing their worldview or supporting it?
it's the story of a man who is now saved
dawn as I was reading this post I thought It was what you believed and I was WHAT! they got to the bottom and saw where this quote came from . i was like WHEW so glad!
No. Not what we believe by a long shot.
The deception of this teaching is so sad. Heartbreaking.
Psalm 51:5 came to my mind too, Cate! Your family will continue to be in my prayers Dawn!
Yowsa! Do these Mormons not have children of their own? I just watched an 8-month-old eat my shoes. And then bite his sister's shin until she cried. This would not be the work of inborn perfection...
We have friends from church who were raised in a very small secluded Mormon community. When they chose Jesus instead they were shunned. :( Even by family. Deception so strong. But not as strong as truth. I will pray for whatever situation prompted this post.
Are you saying the mormons believe black people are cursed with the color of their skin over indecisiveness in some "pre-life" in heaven????
That's what mormon theology teaches.
what I am so perplexed by is why adoption agencies are allowing adoptions into this worldview!?! How do they explain away this thinking??
I meant the mormons, but I guess the agencies, too
