Breakin" A Sweat

We were hit w/ two unexpected medical bills this week...$50 and $108.

We've been living w/a dryer that doesn't want to blow hot air for about a month now. Brad's tried to fix it...multiple times.

No heat.

The Sears guy has come out twice in the past 8 days. He tells us that we can use their service to solve the problem (which is not covered by our warranty) for about $200 dollars or Bradley can go to Home Depot and buy a cheap snake like brush gadget that should do the trick with the help of my Dad's leaf blower.

Nope. No heat.

Our dishwasher has been a "lemon" since the day we purchased it...but the people who determine weather or not an appliance is a true "lemon" or not....haven't been like-minded. Until now. It seems after 4 recent service calls to fix the same problem....that we do indeed officially have a "lemon" on our hands! Yeah! It's my understanding that one day soon they will drive up in a truck and deliver to our home a new dishwasher.

Bradley has an old car w/out air conditioning. Still, it gets him to where he needs to go. Today, he needed to go in the 107 degree heat...during his lunch hour...back to the service station where he got his last oil and filter change because he was....in his words, "leaking."

Not a problem. The guys didn't screw on a cap tight enough...or something. Solved.

But.....wait......what was that HUGE rear side hidden about to burst bubble they spotted as the car was raised in the air on one of those hydraulic lifter things? Major problem which called for the unexpected need to purchase new tires for the junker. $315.

In the meantime...I was on my way to worship dance lessons w/the girls ($3/per class)...drinking our Starbucks (free iced water)...coming from the library where we borrowed a stack of books and films.

While the guys worked on the car, Brad called me from his cell phone as he walked back to church with the snake brush contraption thingie in his hand. "How are you doin?"...I asked.

"I'm sweating." was his response.

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

Thankful tonight for doctors, for medicine, for medical insurance, for clothing to wash, for dishes to scrub, for the junker, for the fact that the tire didn't blow to pieces while Bradley was in the car, for "lemon policies" and Home Depot. Thankful that Starbucks gives away iced water...for my library...which I LOVE, for low cost /high quality lessons and for the fact that Bradley came down off the roof in one piece.
