The Princess and The Pea
We used the Lauren Child version. I simply love her. Charlie and Lola (the cartoon) is my favorite! And Clarice Bean (the book series) is adorable.
Everone tried the homemade Split Pea Soup.....but obviousy.....not everbody like it. Connor's description: "It tasted like garbage."
Free internet coloring pages. Just do a google search.
Zion decided to give her princess "raven" hair because that's what the princess in the story had.
The kids had no problem coming up w/more than three.

Artsy Stuff.
Lauren Child is the most fabulous artist. So sweet. Collage and illustration is what we covered in this lesson. Each student was asked to incorporate both in a work. I used torn images from a J Crew catalogue to get them started.

Yarn Dolls by Jemima
Here's the funniest part of the story. She was following along and adapted the instructions for the craft out of a book we borrowed from the library. Midway through the afternoon...she comments in an off the cuff manner...."This book must've been published in the 80's or they wanted the kids/models to look like they wee in the 80's for some reason because the outfits are just horrible, Mom. They are all in bright blue, yellow, red you know.....and green."
LOL! My girls has a distaste for primary colors...especially on models.

Bria's writing a short for his film class.
His professor assigned Rebel Without A Crew by Robert Rodriguez...which he's already read twice. She also touched on The Hero's Journey during the first class....which he's quite familiar with.
I think he's thinkin' dear ole Mom and Dad might just have a clue to life right about now.

I'm in love with this day for it's historical significance...and all that it means for our young nation. I'm sober in regards to the ideological shifts which will be ushered in. I find hope in the
Lord...who has divine purposes working behind every scene on the world's stage.
President Obama swore his oath of allegiance on the same Bible used by Abraham Lincoln at his inauguration in 1861, held by the new First Lady, Michelle Obama.
