Mom and I went furniture hunting all around town while Dad sat in the cul-de-sac reading Spurgeon and watching the girls rollerblade this afternoon. Boy, did I need that! I sometimes think the only ones who understand the needs of a home-educating mother are other home-educating mothers and those who love them. I'm sure being away from my in-the-flesh, grumpy old self for a few hours did a world of good for the kids too.

Amen to that sister! You are so right! You are so lucky to still have your mom around. My mom passed away 6 years ago and I so miss our shopping adventures! Those little breaks are a breath of fresh air, aren't they?
And to top it all off....my parents bought us a new couch, chair and 2 coffee tables as a belated CHRISTmas gift!
